Grieving

After an accident, illness or a period of distressing events people need to give themselves time to heal. If the changes in our lives wrought by these events are permanent, a period of grieving is appropriate to reflect on what has been lost.

Healing is both a mental and physical process – mind and body working together. The rehabilitation process therefore involves a reorientation to consider new alternatives, new pathways, new goals.

Positive attitudes are an essential component of this process to provide the vision, energy and determination needed to achieve a new life.
